Healthy & Natural Living – The Organic Alternative. Public meetings in 14 US cities & featuring experts in the Organic industry. During May 2004.
April 27, 2004 -- "The challenge for people who want to lead a healthy life is two fold", said Anne O'Casey, tour publicist and manager of www.chooseorganics.com. "In the first instance it is to educate ourselves about what product labels really mean so that we know what is going into our bodies. In the second instance it is about finding healthy alternatives."
The meetings will feature Alf Orpen and Narelle Chenery. Orpen has almost two decades experience in the organics industry in the USA, UK, South-East Asia and Japan. Chenery is at the forefront of organic product research and development and created the first certified organic range of skin care products, achieving certification from four leading certification bodies.
O'Casey pointed to Chenery's products as one example of what consumers are demanding. "Annual sales of organic products have grown to almost US$30 billion a year, yet traditional agriculture is failing to adapt – 1964 saw around 300 million kilograms of pesticides released compared to over 1700 million kilograms last year.
"This tour has a simple key objective," continued O'Casey. "It is to arm people with information and resources to make informed choices, including the choice to ‘opt out' of the chemical soup in which we live. Organic farming is labour intensive & takes longer but it is the only model we have that is environmentally sustainable and that won't literally poison generations to come."
"These meetings are about empowerment," O'Casey concluded. "We won't just scare you with facts and statistics (although we will provide many of them). We will give you information about products and strategies to help detoxify your body and live a healthy and natural life."
